L'Italia in un periodo di grande forma fisica affronta la Polonia senza Boniek. La mancanza dell'asso della squadra porta la Polonia a maggiori difficoltà in attacco, ma bisogna anche contare l'incredibile prestazione di Dino Zoff, sempre presente su tutti i tiri. Paolo Rossi continua a giocare benissimo. Una bella partita, non spettacolare come la precedente contro il Brasile, ma davvero piacevole, una buona semifinale.
